About the Workshop

A five-day, research-oriented workshop transforming historical ornament into computational and CNC-fabricated relief prototypes. Participants work in two or three groups, each producing one prototype panel and its process documentation.

Target Participants

The programme is specifically aimed at higher education students in Architecture, Design, and Engineering, both national and international, as well as young professionals holding a master’s degree in the aforementioned fields.

Requirements

  • Personal laptop required.
  • Rhinoceros 3D is mandatory. Participants should have at least an intermediate level, including basic 2D/3D modelling, curve editing, layer management and file export.
  • Grasshopper knowledge is optional but recommended.
  • Basic visual interpretation and architectural representation skills are expected.
Please note: The workshop will take place only if a minimum of 10 participants have paid the registration fee. If this minimum number is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled and all registration fees paid will be fully refunded.

Refunds will be issued only in the event that the workshop is cancelled by the organisers. No refunds will be provided for participants who register but subsequently decide not to attend, are unable to attend, or otherwise fail to participate in the workshop. The organisers shall not be held responsible for any inconvenience, costs, or expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation or non-attendance.

What is the registration fee?

What software experience do I need?
Rhinoceros 3D at an intermediate level is mandatory (basic 2D/3D modelling, curve editing, layer management and file export). Grasshopper is optional but recommended.
What should I bring?

What will I produce?
Working in one of two or three groups, you will help produce a digital twin, a computational reinterpretation and one CNC-fabricated prototype panel (approximately 20 × 30 cm), in timber, cork or composite material.
